Mandates state and local law enforcement agencies to actively participate in the enforcement of federal immigration laws. Each law enforcement agency in Arizona is required to make agreements with U.S. Immigration and Customs ICE to support federal immigration enforcement. Agencies must report their compliance and the status of these agreements to state authorities. The bill further necessitates that at least 10% of law enforcement officers receive training per these agreements, with regular reporting on training progress. Law enforcement agencies holding individuals subject to ICE detainers must adhere to certain procedural duties, including notifying relevant authorities and documenting detainer notices. Correctional facilities are also required to enter agreements to provide temporary housing for individuals under immigration detainers, with potential reimbursement for incurred costs.
