Urges the passage of federal legislation stopping illegal voting

To urge the United States Congress to enact the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act.

House Bill 327 aims to require certain employers and contractors in Ohio to use the federal E-Verify system to confirm the identity and legal work status of their employees. The bill mandates that state agencies and political subdivisions include provisions in their public improvement and service contracts requiring contractors to use E-Verify for all employees hired during the contract term or assigned to work on the contract within Ohio, with contracts lacking such provisions being void. The Attorney General will conduct compliance reviews and can fine state agencies and political subdivisions $5,000 per violation. Employers with 75 or more employees in Ohio and all nonresidential construction contractors must use E-Verify for new hires and maintain verification records, while nonresidential construction project contracts must require contractors and subcontractors to use E-Verify for tradespersons assigned to the project. The Attorney General will investigate complaints of violations and can bring civil actions against violators, with courts ordering a $5,000 penalty per violation and barring violators from state contracts for one year if a violation is found.

Ohio E-Verify Expansion Act

Requiring participants in training and competency evaluation programs to provide evidence of their identity by showing identification issued by any state or the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service.

Healthcare Worker Immigration Verification Act

This bill aims to amend the Revised Code to adjust the existing income tax credit for organ donors and introduce a new income tax credit for employers providing paid leave to organ donors. The proposed nonrefundable credit applies to qualifying employers or individuals with an interest in such employers who offer donation leave benefits to employee donors. For each living donation, the credit is capped at the lesser of the actual donation leave benefits paid to the employee or $300 per day, not to exceed 30 days. Qualifying employers can claim the credit in the taxable year when the donation leave benefits are paid, while individuals with an equity interest in such employers claim their share of the credit in their taxable year, including the last day of the entity's taxable year. "Qualifying employer" means a taxpayer or a passthrough entity who is registered and authorized to use the e-verify federal employment verification program jointly administered by the United States department of homeland security and the social security administration under 8 U.S.C. 1324a, or any of its successor programs.
